A small introduction to The Three Potters
The Three Potters is a ceramics practice rooted in a deep appreciation for process, presence, and the quiet dialogue between maker and material. Founded by Sharon, a ceramic designer based in Bergen, the studio is shaped by a belief that meaningful objects begin with listening — to the clay, to the hands, and to the pace each piece asks for.
The practice first took shape when Sharon was introduced to clay during a preparatory design course, where she was drawn to the freedom of the material. During her later studies in ceramics in Switzerland, this developed into a deeper understanding that ceramics is not only about the finished piece, but about the process, the dialogue, and what unfolds along the way.
The Three Potters grows from this idea — that pottery can act as a kind of teacher, revealing both craft and life through making, if one takes the time to listen.
This is where the name comes from: the clay, the potter, and that third presence that emerges between them.
The studio offers small-batch collections and custom ceramics for everyday use — objects made to be held, used, and lived with.
Alongside collections, The Three Potters welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals and projects to develop personalized pieces shaped through dialogue and shared ideas.
Working mainly through hand building, Sharon approaches clay with attentiveness and care, following its rhythm rather than forcing form. Each piece develops through a quiet exchange between maker, material, and something less defined — a voice that appears through the process itself.
